An estate contents inventory is a documented, photographed record of the tangible personal property in a home — furniture, art, jewelry, collectibles, and household goods — with a fair-market value assigned to each item. It gives the executor and the court a clear, defensible account of what the estate contains and what it is worth.
Do I need an estate inventory for probate in Texas?
In most Texas probate matters the personal representative is required to file an Inventory, Appraisement, and List of Claims. We produce the contents portion of that record — a thorough, photographed inventory with documented values — so the executor can meet that duty without doing it alone. Confirm specific requirements with the estate's attorney.
Is this a certified appraisal?
Our standard deliverable is a documented inventory with fair-market value estimates based on comparable sales, prepared for estate-administration purposes — not a certified appraisal. When a formal qualified appraisal is required, such as for taxable estates, contested matters, or charitable contributions, we refer high-value items to credentialed personal-property appraisers whose signed appraisals are appended.
